Jennifer Allison “Ali” (MacLean) Brown
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ali (MacLean) Brown, 39, of Truro. Ali left us quietly on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Halifax. Ali is survived by her husband Matthew Brown, her precious daughters Emma Brown and Mya Brown, her father Robert MacLean (Marilyn) and mother Diane MacLean (Jude), her brother Paul MacLean(Melissa) and nieces Isla and Safiya and nephews Quinlan, Malik, Adam and Noah and sisters in law Jennifer Rizwan and Nia Stassos. Ali was predeceased by her brother Andy MacLean in February this year. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and very dear friends.
Ali was a protective and loving mom who was devoted to her girls. She passionately planned adventures for her daughters, with long drives and loud music and always a book in her bag. Ali loved to travel south in the winters, and to relax at local lakes and beaches every summer. She enjoyed a 20 year career in food safety, most recently at Masstown Market Creamery.
Never one to stand down from a challenge, Ali was a brave fighter to the very end. Her spirit will live on in all those she touched.
Her family would like to thank the neurology team and all the doctors and nurses in 5.2 ICU in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital as well as the Colchester East Hants Heath Centre Emergency Department.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8 from 6-8pm with a Celebration of Life Service on Friday August 9 at 2pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Live Webcasting of the service will begin at 1:58pm (Atlantic Time) and is available with online condolences at: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
