Alfred Anthony Richard of Fredericton passed away at the age of 90.
Born in Rogersville, NB, he was a son of the late Alyre and Melina
(Miallet) Richard. Alfred was a retired mason and carpenter, having
worked at one point for Fredericton Housing for 8 years from 1960
– 1968. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in
Lincoln and a 4th degree member of the Knights
of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delcina (Comeau) Richard; two
sons Ronald of Fredericton and Armand of Lincoln; six daughters Sylvia
Oram (David), Joann Munn ,Julia Howe (Deryl) all of Geary, NB, Pamela
Sullivan (Terry) of Ottawa, Mona Levesque (Robert) of Lincoln, NB,
Angela Clowater (Duane) of Fredericton, NB; nineteen grandchildren;
twenty nine great grandchildren; eleven great great Grandchildren;
three brothers Norman Richard of Ontario, Raymond Richard (Dora) of
Fredericton, Paul Richard (Lucia) of Maquapit Lake, NB; three sisters
Francene Chisholm (Harold) of Halifax, Patricia Young of Ontario,
Janita Arsenault (Anthony) of Montreal, QC; aunts, uncles, numerous
nieces and nephews.
Apart from his parents, Alfred was also predeceased by a
daughter Norma Phillips; son-in-law Kenneth Phillips; son-in-law Ricky
Munn; a brother Yvan and sister Adrianne.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road
Fredericton with visitation being held on Sunday, September 1 from 1-5
pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church
in Lincoln, NB on Monday, September 2nd at 12 pm. Interment will take
place in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery following the service,
with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made to either the St. Francis
of Assisi Church Building Fund, or choice of your charitable
organization would be appreciated by the family.
