Walker-Duncan, Sandra Jean (nee Strawn) – Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital with her family by her side on Monday July 8, 2019 in her 81st year. Sandra and Donald Walker, married in 1960, had 4 children, Katharine, John, Garth, and Blake who will greatly miss their mother. Cherished grandmother of Paige, Chelsea, Alex, Jack, Hudson, Taylor, Fin, and Sloan. Proud great-grandmother of William. With her husband Neil Duncan, stepmother to Phyllis, Terry and Todd and grandmother to Olivia and Hannah. Sandra will be greatly missed by her sister, Marsha Warren. Sandra was born and raised in Welland. She graduated from Welland Secondary, and later worked as a registered nurse in the pediatric ward at Welland General Hospital. Sandra lived for many years in Pelham, and was an active member of the Fonthill United Church. In later years she resumed her nursing career with the Victorian Order of Nurses in Niagara on the Lake.
A service to honour the life of Sandra will take place at James L. Pedlar Funeral Home on Friday July 12th at 10:00 am with a burial following at Fonthill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to ALS Canada (ALS.ca). Online condolences can be shared at pedlarfuneralhome.ca.
