Roberta Madeline «Bobby» Russell
Roberta Madeline «Bobby» Russell –
age 68, of Murphy Lake, Kings County, passed away, surrounded by
family, on Friday, July 5, 2019, in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Robert
and Roxanna (Barkhouse) Davison. Roberta left her employment with the
Department of Transportation to become a legal secretary and then
worked as an office administrator in real estate, from which she
retired from. She was an avid camper who loved music, travel and
horses. She had a cherished friendship with Lorraine
Bezanson with whom she used to ride with every Thursday.
Roberta was strong and upbeat, even throughout her illness. She is
survived by her husband of 41 years, Brian; daughter Melissa Russell
(Trevor Myers), Kentville; grandson, Aidan Myers; sisters, Sandra
(Dean) Spencer, Wolfville; Irene Davison, Halls Harbour; Joyce
Davison, Kingston; mother-in-law, Bernice Comish, New Minas;
step-mother-in-law, Shirley Russell; brothers-in-law, Frank (Judy)
Russell, New Minas; John Russell, Port Williams; sister-in-law, Nancy
Russell (Ron Mapplebeck), Wolfville Ridge; numerous nieces, nephews
and extended family. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and
loved her, especially her dog, Raisin. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by sister, Hazel Davison; brother, George; brother-in-law,
Kirk Russell; father-in-law, Cecil Russell; step-father-in-law, Frank
Comish and step-sister-in-law, Linda Schnare.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in
the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville where the funeral service,
followed by reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12,
2019, Reverend Christina Bigelow officiating. Burial will take place
at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers
only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
