Obituary for Michael George Bruce
March 15, 1955 – July 14, 2019. Loving husband of Marion (nee Horn) for 17 years. Dear father of Richard, Lisa, Michelle, Jodie, Ashley, Bryanna and Hanna. Special dad to Jan and Jon. Treasured grandpa of Michael, Jeanette, Jonathan, Katie, Becca, Brandi, Dillon, Liam, Emma, Blake and Hank. Great grandpa of Jon (JW). Brother of Debbie (Mike), Ken (Theresa), Rick (Debby), late Douglas, Rob (Louise), Scott (Heidi), Keith and James (Paula). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Best friend of Vic (Young) Zorzit. Mike spent his life as a road and local musician; had an avid recording career; appeared as an opener and headliner at hundreds of festivals; appeared on National Television and was a recipient of the Es County Music Recognition Awards (2015). In his final years he developed a non-profit recording studio called Mickey Starr Productions. His musical family stretches from his own brothers to people across Canada. He truly loved all his musical buddies. Many thanks to Dr. Kadri, Dr. Petrinac, their staff, and the nurses and doctors at the Metropolitan Campus who showed him kindness and compassion in his final hours. Mike is resting at the Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. N, Es on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A life celebration service will take place at 8 p.m. Cremation to follow.
