Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital at the age 84. Beloved daughter of the late Percy and Sophie Hann. Loving wife of Melvin Deacon for the past nine years and is pre-deceased by husband of 45 years, Albert Blackwood (1999). Much~loved mother to Cindy Herdman (Doug). Grandmother to Daniel (Nicole), Ryan & Brianna. Joan will be greatly missed by her brother Al and his wife Shirley and is pre-deceased by her brothers Doug, Vic; sister Louise; sister-in-law Catherine and brother-in-law Joe. She is dearly loved by all her nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Ross Memorial Hospital and to Dr. McMillan and the nurses on the 3rd floor, palliative care unit for their support and a special thanks to volunteer Grace who was with Joan when she passed. The family of Joan Deacon will receive friends at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #238, Fenelon Falls, 23 Veteran’s Way, on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 12noon until the time of her celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. A reception to follow.
