J. Gavin Dobson
1961-2019
It is with sadness that the family of Gavin Walter Dobson of
Geary, NB, announce his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on
Friday, July 26, 2019 at the age of 58. Born in Fredericton, NB, on
June 5, 1961, he was the son of the late Wesley and Thelma (Hickey)
Dobson.
Gavin leaves behind his wife, Tammy (Meade); sons, Troy
Dobson (Sara Shannon) and Tyler Dobson (Sara); daughter, Felicia
Dobson (Adam Rothwell); grandchildren, Brooklyn, Alexis, and Owen;
brother, Robert Dobson (Margaret); brother-in-law, Keith Meade
(Donna), father-in-law, John Newsome; special aunt, Imelda Shaffer;
uncle, Charles (Donna) Hickey as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, and cousins; best dog friend, Ginger.
Gavin worked for Marwood Ltd. for 39 years as a Supervisor.
He was a loving husband to Tammy for 34 years and a devoted father and
grandfather. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, hockey and
cooking the best holidays meals. He also enjoyed spending time with
family and friends and listening and dancing to country
music.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday,
July 30, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A memorial service will
be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 1
pm with Fr. John Jennings officiating. A reception will follow the
service. For those who wish, donations in Gavin’s memory can
be made to the Oromocto Food Bank or the DECH Foundation, Palliative
