It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Glendon Ernest Moore. Glennie died peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by his family on July 29, 2019 at age 89.
Glennie is survived by his wife of 43 years Doris, nee Moore, stepchildren Wayne (Lise), Andrew (Nancy) and Sandy Weaver, grandchildren Patrick, Justin, Amanda, Brett, Sarah, Matthew, and Brooke Weaver, sisters Marilyn Bennett, Irene Moore and sister-in-law Marjorie Moore, brothers Beverley (Carol), Ray (Liz), and Lawrence Moore and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are like family.
Born February 24, 1930, in Black River, NB, Glennie worked his farm there for 70+ years. He was a former active member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Black River, and was also a member of All Saints Anglican Church of Upper Loch Lomond for many years. He was a member of the Southern NB Woodlot Owners. Glennie was a self-employed woodcutter and actively worked his farm in Black River growing potatoes which he generously gave to family and friends as well as soup kitchens around the City of Saint John.
Glennie was above all else a family man. He was a loving husband to Doris, a wonderful father to his step-children and an amazing grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved dancing, fiddle jamborees and was social butterfly and a wonderful story teller to all.
Glennie was predeceased by his parents Marion and John Moore, sister Holly Moore, brothers David, Chesley and Paul Moore, stepdaughter Janice Weaver and nephews Darren Bennett.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmoland Road, Saint John, NB (506) 646-2424, from where visiting will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place immediately following the service at St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Black River. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to the St Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery Fund or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated.
