Obituary of Clarence De Vries
De Vries, Klaas (Clarence) (September 24, 1939) went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning June 30, 2019. Much loved husband to Ann for 31 years. Son of the late Oeds & Sjoukje (Jansma) DeVries. He was predeceased by infant son Andrew Edward (1965), adult son Andrew Bernard (2016), grandson Kyle (2006) and brother Jacob (2012). Survived by sons Wally and Paul. Stepfather to Sandra (Al) Stares, John (Karen) Kamphuis. Proud Pake to Dave (Emma), Jonathan, Zachary (Stephanie), Rebecca and Lydia Stares, Brandon, Nathan, Lauren, Sheldon and Allyson Kamphuis. Brother to Marilyn (Martin) Kloet, Jessie (George) Visser, Berend (Ileen), Tilly (Peter) VanderSar, Eleanor (Ken) Esson. Brother-in-law to Peter + (Susan) Nauta, Shirley (Gerry +) Riewald, Leo (Wendy) Nauta, Sam (Marie +) Nauta, Janet (Dave) Vandermolen, Dorothy (Bill) Campbell, Betty (Gary) Galenkamp. Loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Thanks to Dr. Maida, Dr. Leonard, Gillian and the Oncology Staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Special thanks to Nurse Kelli for her loving care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., on Wednesday July 3 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Jordan On Thursday July 4 at 10:30am. A Memorial Service will follow at 12noon at Trinity United Reformed Church, 99 Scott St., St. Catharines.
