Obituary of Aldo Yallin
YALLIN – Aldo It is with extreme sadness and shock that the family of Aldo Yallin announce his sudden passing on Friday, July 5, 2019. Aldo, who was in his 95th year, was predeceased by his wife Dora (née Caperchione) in 2016. He is survived by his sister, Maria MacDonald. Aldo will be forever remembered and loved by his children, Pamela (Glenn Stephenson), Deborah (Paul Richardson), Christine (Jim Lavigne), and Mark (Carrie Yallin). Fortunately, for the past 2 summers we shared wonderful experiences travelling in Italy with our father. Enjoying all the amazing sites, along with the various red wines, Aldo’s favourite. We will all miss his support, encouragement, unconditional love and words of wisdom. Family was most important to Aldo and he cherished his 11 grandchildren, Michael and Gregory Knoll, Jennie and Laurie Richardson, Jamie and Justin Martel, and Stephanie, Kristina, Alexandra, Andrea and Kate Yallin. He was also blessed with 13 beautiful great grandchildren. At the young age of 17, Aldo began working at Thurston Machine Company and he became a co-owner in 1970, continuing with the company well into his 80’s. Life was always experienced to the fullest by Aldo. He was instrumental in the formation of the Sugarloaf Sailing Club, becoming the first commodore. Sailing became his passion, and he experienced numerous trips chartering sailboats in the British Virgin Islands. Aldo will be truly missed by all who knew him well and it is our hope to live our lives with the same spirit and zest he demonstrated. Cremation will take place, and at the family’s request, a private celebration of Aldo’s life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by his family Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
