Memorial Donation
For Wilfred Joseph Marche (usually called “Bill” by most of his friends), the long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease has ended at age 67. Bill passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2019 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre in Stephenville Crossing with his wife and daughter by his side.
Bill is predeceased by his son Justin, his parents Wallace and Zetha, four of his brothers; Hillary, Jervis, Roddy and Kevin, his father-in-law Reg Duffenais and his brother-in-law Robert Duffenais.
He leaves to mourn with cherished memories his loving wife of 47 years Rita(nee Duffenais), his beloved daughter and absolute joy in his life, Carrie, his son-in-law Sean O’Brien and his three treasured grandchildren; MaKenna, Ethan and Eden.
Bill grew up in a very large family, and so he also leaves behind seven sisters; Mercedes Burton (Dave), Susan Marche (Eddy),Rona Alexander (Pat), Rita Benoit (Richard), Jocelyn Marche (Steve), Sheila White (Neil) and Tracey Marche (Darrell) as well as five brothers; Kenn (Ali), Morris (Faye), Dennis, Wallace (Kim) and Gerard (Irene),
He will also be sadly missed by his two sisters-in-law Gail Swinamer (Charlie) and Linda Marche, his three brothers-in-law; Gary, Tom and Leonard Duffenais (Jeannie), his mother-in-law Kathleen Duffenais as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a large extended family.
As Bill went through his life he made many friends. It would be hard not to like such a gentle, caring individual with a great sense of humour, but sometimes in life a person is lucky enough to find friends who will truly stick with you, and support you no matter what, through thick, thin and in between. Bill was lucky enough to find that in his closest friends, Jack and Linda Penney, and Peter and Donna Gabriel. They will certainly be among those who miss him most.
Thanks goes out to all those who offered support in any way, whether it be through visits, meals, kind thoughts or prayers.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. J.T Dennis, Dr. Barry Porter, Dr. S. Verma and Lorraine Mitchell NP as well as to all medical and care staff at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, where Bill resided for the last six years.
In lieu of flowers in Bill’s memory donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society or to the S.P.C.A
