Violet Ethel Desrosiers (Veley)
Desrosiers, Violet Ethel [Veley] – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Violet Desrosiers announces that she passed away December 26, 2018 at the Temiskaming Hospital after a short illness, with her sister Pearl, and nieces Donna and Blenda by her side.
Violet Ethel May Veley was born in Hilliard Township on December 28, 1936 to Kate (Stockwell) and Jerome Veley. She was the last child to be born into a very loving family, joining Muriel, Esther, William, Mary, Kathleen and Pearl. Edna Beatrice had died in infancy.
Vi was predeceased in 2013 by her husband of 58 years, Paul Desrosiers. She is survived by her son Dale Holland (Connie), and their children: Wanda (Brian), Derrick (Erin), and Kelly-Anne (Brandon). She loved hearing about her grandchildren’s growing families-Evan, Alexa and Ethan; Ezra and Blake; Abbey, Olivia and Brody. Vi is also survived by her sister Pearl, as well as cherished in the memories of her many nieces and nephews and their families.
There seemed to be nothing that Vi couldn’t do. Early in life she believed the saying, “Where there is a will, there is a way”, and “can’t” didn’t seem to be a word in her dictionary. That determination and amazing work ethic led her to work at Lady Minto, New Liskeard Hospital, Canadian Tire, Smallmans, ending her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Tri-Town Extendicare. She was always quick to volunteer her time, sew clothes for young nieces, and help wherever necessary. Vi was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to cross her path.
The Desrosiers family will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home, Saturday, May 4, 2019 beginning at 10:00 am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home. Pastor George Pastor George Paraskevopoulos officiating.
