Peter Marinus Dubbeldam went home to his Savior and Lord on June 25, 2019, at the age of 91 years. Peter, who was a firm believer in God’s grace, died at home surrounded by his family, and with the hope of new life with Jesus. Besides his loving wife of 68 years, Lenny (nee Van de Nadort), Peter is survived by his six children and their spouses, 25 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Peter was born on February 21, 1928 to Arie and Dana Dubbeldam and raised in Strijen, the Netherlands. He married Lenny Jane Van de Nadort on January 25, 1951 and immigrated to Edmonton in March of 1951. He worked at various welding and fabricating shops in Edmonton until 1964, when he started his own business in his garage, on the home property. He worked with his kids at that location until 1983, when he retired and pursued boat building and winters in the warmer south. Peter and Lenny travelled extensively and volunteered with overseas relief agencies as well.
A Memorial service for Peter will be held on Wednesday July 3 at 2:30 PM at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church in Edmonton with Reverend Art Verboon officiating.
