Lloyd Edward Diggins passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 at the age of 69 years.
Beloved husband of 47 years to Eileen Diggins. Cherished father of Colleen Wharmby (Richard), Kathleen Holmstrom (Erik), Maureen Diggins, and Lloyd Diggins. Dearly loved grandfather of Samantha, Victoria, Elizabeth, Matthew, Aspen, Annika, Blake, and Julianna. He also leaves to mourn his beloved sister Dianne Fleming (Gordon). Predeceased by his daughter Maureen Diggins, his father Lloyd Diggins, his mother Floella Diggins, and his sister Jean Piscopo.
Lloyd spent his spare days either travelling North America with his wife, or in his garage doing wood working projects for his children. The most memorable trip was recently to San Francisco with his wife travelling the coast in their R.V. and seeing the ocean. He was “Uncle Lloyd” to so many nieces, and nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by everyone.
We would like to thank the entire Lung Transplant Team at the U of A Hospital. The team of doctors, nurses, and support staff who worked with Lloyd tirelessly over the last 2 years were like a second home to him. A special thank you to Dr. Justin Weinkauf, and Dr. Dale Lien. Without them Lloyd wouldn’t have had the extra few years he got to enjoy life to the fullest.

A prayer service will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 13131-86 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta, on Wednesday, June 26th at 7 pm. We would be honoured if you could join us in celebrating Lloyd’s life. Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church on Thursday, June 27th, 2019 at 2:00 PM.
