Joseph Arnold Devoe

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Joseph (Joe) Devoe, age 71, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on September 14, 1947, he was the son of the late Arnold and Maggie (McBride) Devoe. He worked in the coal mines from the age of 17 until his retirement.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Betty (Boutilier), daughters Kim (Cale), and Jennifer, and his grandchildren Kevin MacMullin, Breanna MacDonald, and Cailum MacDonald. He also leaves behind his sister Maureen (Gil) Gilmore, his brother Kevin (Heather) Devoe, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his younger brother Adrian.
At Joe’s request, there will be a private service at a later date.
