Daniel «Beaver» Bovaird
1958-2019
It’s with heartfelt sadness that the family of
Daniel (Beaver) W. Bovaird announce his passing on June 6th at his
home in Saint John. Dan is survived by his three sons, Shane
Bovaird (Alexia), Jamie Bovaird, Justin Bovaird, and his step
children, Tara Daley (Matthew), Owen Healey and Beth Wheaton (Chris);
his grandchildren, Isabelle Bovaird, Taylor Bovaird, D’Andre Bovaird,
Leona Bovaird, Kiera Daley, Lachlan Daley, Morgan Healey, Leah Healey,
Krynn Wheaton and Makynleigh Wheaton; his many siblings, Sharon
Fiander-Bovaird, Mary-Ellen (late Verne) Webster, John Bovaird (Gail),
Joseph Bovaird (Patricia), Perry Bovaird (Andrea), Michael Bovaird
(Marilyn), Jackie O’Hanley, Tim Bovaird (Pam) and his mother Elsie
(Johnston) Bovaird. Dan was predeceased by his father Walker
Bovaird, sister Judy (Bovaird -Coughlan) and wife, Pam Kingston.
Dan’s experiences throughout his life,
could fill a book. He travelled the world with his wife,
Pamela Kingston and created cherished memories and experiences which
he often shared. He was a man of many talents which he demonstrated
throughout his life. Whether with carpentry, or mechanical
work, he rarely sat still, always taking pride in his work.
Dan’s family was a huge part of his life and many great times were
spent at BBQ’s and get togethers. Dan was always seen with a smile and
was quick to make people laugh.
His loss is deeply felt by all his children and grandchildren
and the memories will never be forgotten. He enjoyed many activities
with them; a cheerleading festival with granddaughter Isabelle or a
Baseball game with Taylor. Puttering and fixing something or the other
around Shane’s house in Hampton; like when he extended the shed in the
yard and put up a fence which took twice as long as it should of. Only
because he enjoyed spending so much time tinkering and talking. He
even had the honor of walking Tara down the aisle on her wedding
day.
Dan was a man of many stories and his
antics throughout his life will be fondly remembered by those who
loved him. Always the social butterfly, he was first known as Beaver,
and lastly to those who lived around him, as the Mayor of King St
East; he was a born story teller and easily liked by all.
But by whatever name you knew him, Dad, Dan, Beaver, Pappy, brother,
or uncle, he meant something to us all. And his loss will be
felt.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes, there will not be any
visitation or service.
