Blaine Thorne
1945-2019
Blaine (Leon) Thorne, 73, passed away at
the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 with his family
by his side, after a brief illness. Born in Petitcodiac, he was the
son of the late Leo and Freda (Corey) Thorne.
Blaine will be sadly missed by his
loving wife, Sandra (Maxwell) of 53 years; daughter, Krista Woodman
(Mike) of Havelock; son Kent (Lisa) of Pine Glen; four grandchildren,
Ashton Thorne of Montreal, Riley Woodman (Ashton), Brendon Woodman
both of Havelock and Blake Mannett of Pine Glen. Blaine is also
survived by two brothers, Bernard (Donna) of Acton, ON and Bob (Linda)
of Havelock; sister, Berneta of Ottawa, ON; and several nieces and
nephews; and extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by his sister, Barbara Caines-Thorne.
Blaine was a truck driver all his life
and owned his own company since 1981. He was a member of the
Conservative Party and held the office of President of KingsCo
Transport. Along with his love of trucking was his love for his
family. He was very outgoing, friendly, well-liked and respected in
the community.

Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home
(372-4800) where family and friends are invited to celebrate Blaine’s
life during visitation on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 2 – 5 pm. There
will be no formal funeral service by request. Interment in
Fairhaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Oncology Unit.
