Tina Lynn Hunter Harding
1966-2019
Tina Lynn Hunter Harding, 53, of Woodstock, N.B. passed away
peacefully, in her own way and on her own terms, on May 10, 2019,
surrounded by the love of friends and family who never left her side.
Tina fought a long and courageous battle with breast
cancer.
Tina gave her time to others in many ways. She was a
volunteer for numerous organizations. Her main focus recently was
being a advocate for those living with cancer. From her first
diagnosis, Tina always said that if she had to have this horrific
disease, she was determined to turn it into something good. She helped
create the Living Beyond Cancer Peer Support Group with the help of
other cancer survivors, and she also lobbied for the Stay Strong
Program in the Woodstock area after benefiting from her time spent at
the chapter in Fredericton.
Tina was born February 24th,
1966 and grew up in Fredericton, NB. She attended Fredericton High
School and then went on to pursue a career as a dental assistant at
Holland College in Prince Edward Island, where she met many lifelong
friends. She began her career in Halifax, NS and then gradually moved
home to be closer to family. After her marriage and birth of her son,
her family moved to Woodstock in 2008, where they were wholeheartedly
welcomed and taken in by the community in so many wonderful ways.
Tina’s love of children drew her to a change of careers to work at the
local school and daycare center.
She fully embraced her last 5 years of life by connecting
with friends, building memories with family, visiting special places,
including her many visits to the ocean, her happy place. Tina took
each day in stride and never complained about her hard fought battle.
She fought the fight of her life for her Hunter and never gave up. Her
unwavering faith in God kept her strong through it all. Whenever you
find a dime or see a dragonfly, think of Tina.
Tina will be forever remembered by her husband Scott, her
precious son Hunter, her mother Valerie, and her brother Glen (Darcy).
She will also be lovingly remembered by her in-laws Ralph and Marilyn,
sister-in-law Cheryl (Denis), brother-in-law Graeme (Roddie). Tina
will also be missed by her nieces and nephews Brady, Brynn, Katie,
Kelly, Tyler, Casey, and Mitchel, many special aunts, uncles, cousins,
and of course her fur babies. She was predeceased by her Father,
Lister, maternal grandparents Laura and Jim Hachey, and paternal
grandparents Vyetta and Glen Hunter.
A celebration of life for Tina will be held at the
Woodstock Wesleyan Church, 340 Lockhart
Mill Rd, Jacksonville, NB with Dale MacDonald and Neil Horner
officiating. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 10
to 11:30am, with the service following and 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers and in honouring Tina’s request, please
make memorial donations to the River Valley Cancer Support Group in
Woodstock, NB.
