It is with sorrow that we announce the death of Tannis (Macfarland) Betts on May 12, 2019 at the age of 94 years.
Tannis is survived by her six children, Brian (Beverley), Margaret, George (Madeleine), William, Tannis (Wayne) and Noel (Pam); her fourteen grandchildren, Leah (Chris), Camille, Adrienne (Michael), Stephanie (Brett), Daniel, Julia (Philippe), Clayton, Charis, Olivia, David (Lanette), Heather (Joel), Andrea, William and Kaitlyn; and by eleven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by William Arthur Betts, DFC, her husband of fifty-five years, and by her siblings Jane, Leona, George “Pat”, John and Constance.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm at St. John’s Anglican Church, 11111 57 Ave NW, Edmonton.
We would like to thank Sherwood Care for the support, affection and respect they showed to Tannis during her time there, and during her final illness.
She was a Royal Alex Nurse, Class of ’47, a tireless volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a devoted friend and supporter to the elderly and disabled, and the queen of the rummage sales at St. John’s Anglican Church on the south side of Edmonton.
