Obituary for Robert Papp
Robert Papp passed away peacefully with his eldest daughter by his side in Invermere, BC.
Robert is predeceased by his wife Gladys, father Andrew, mother Elizabeth and brother Alex.
Robert grew up and worked on the family farm on Sumas Prairie. He moved to Sparwood in 1971 where he worked at a coal mine until his retirement. In 1978, Robert was proud to be one of the operators of the Terex Titan, known as the largest truck in the world at that time, which has been a landmark located in Sparwood, BC for years. He enjoyed taking family and friends to view the Terex Titan and could be found talking to visitors and informing them of the local history.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed working on vehicles, watching westerns, and always liked to chit chat and joke around with the ladies.
Robert is survived by his children; Lisa Papp (Terry Kootnikoff), Tracey Paulson, Roy (Kim) Papp, Gordon (Xuan) Papp, grandchildren; Kimberly, Talon, Arya, Emily. Stepchildren; Mario (Tracy) Morrone, Rosa Morrone, and JJ Morrone, step grandchildren; Arien, Tiffany, Anthony, and Tyrel.
