GRAY, Richard “Dick” Thomas – went home to his heavenly Father on May 4th, 2019 while listening to Romans 8 and Psalms 23. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Clara and will be fondly remembered by his son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Pam; grandson Thomas and fiancé Nicole Crown; granddaughter Emily and fiance Ryan Kerr.
Richard was born September 5, 1926 in Gravenhurst and his parents were Henry and Jessie Gray (nee Schell). He grew up in Walkers Point and had three brothers and two sisters and was the last surviving sibling. Richard worked for over 40 years as the Caretaker on Squirrel Island in Beaumaris on Lake Muskoka. He was an avid fisherman and seldom came home empty handed.
He was also a “fisher of men”. He was a founding member of the Apostolic Church (Gateway Worship Centre) in Gravenhurst and with Clara was instrumental in providing Sunday School to many children living in Uffington.
Visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, May 8th from 6-8 pm and Thursday, May 9th from 12-1pm at Cavill-Turner Funeral home where the funeral service will be held at 1 pm. Interment at Mickle Memorial Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Gateway Worship Centre.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Muskoka. Personal condolences may be offered to the family at www.cavillfuneralhome.com
