It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Belgrade (nee Nobes) on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, 2019 in her 89th year surrounded by the ones who loved her. Marion was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. Born in Hamilton to the late Norman & Alice Nobes, Marion raised her family in Woodstock where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Aiken Apple Factory and Woodstock Chrysler. She was her children’s biggest fan, cheering them on at all sport events, even… Read More » building a rink in the backyard and feeding all the hungry players. One of her most favourite activities and cherished memories was fishing with her sons. Marion will be greatly missed by her sons Alex (Pam), and Stephen. Predeceased by her husband Alexander (1985) son Michael (2012) and daughter Diane. She was beloved “Grandma B” to her grandson, Adam (Taylor). Marion will be sadly missed by her life long friend Cora of over 60 years, and great friend Goederoen.
Marion made a new life for herself after her husbands passing, moving back to her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario to be closer to her aging parents and new grandson. Marion was a long-time member of Battlefield New Horizons Seniors Club where she enjoyed her friends while playing cards. Marion always greeted people with a smile, was kind, thoughtful and a cherished friend and neighbour.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Hamilton General Hospital for their special care and compassion during Marion’s final journey.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Marion.
