Loran James « Jim » Scribner
1939-2019
Jim Scribner, 80 of Riverview, passed away on
Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB. He was the
son of the late James and Hazel (McLean) Scribner.
Jim was a newspaper pressman for 47 years in Toronto, Saint
John and Moncton. He was also an avid wood worker, fisherman and
chairman of the Children’s Wish Foundation for 20 plus
years. Jim had a big heart, his main goal in life was to help people
and make them happy, he will be dearly missed by his many family and
friends.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Dawnalda
Antworth-Scribner, daughters: Patti-Lynn (Willard C. Henderson)
Scribner, Angie (Paul Leger) Scribner, step-children, Christi (Trevor
Majensky) Kerwin, Ross (Clare) Antworth, Kimberly (Aubrey)
Kirkpatrick, Robert (Tammy) Antworth, half-sister, Mona Hambrook,
step-grandchildren, Jaden Majensky, Jillian Antworth, Alexander
Antworth, Sidney Antworth, Vincent Antworth, Chloe Kirkpatrick, Hunter
Kirkpatrick and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Jim was predeceased by his infant son
Timothy Brian Scribner.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 10:00am until
11:30am. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm at Cobb’s
Funeral Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview, NB., E1B 0E4
(869-2007). Donations can be made in Jim’s memory to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or
Children’s Wish Foundation.
Special thanks to the radiology department at the George
Dumont and the Oncology department at Moncton city hospital.
With special appreciation to Dr. Arsenault and her staff for their
exceptional care and support.
