Obituary for Jean Huxtable
A beautiful Soul was made our new angel on May 19th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Jean was 89 years of age when she peacefully left us.
Mom was born in Ceylon, Saskatchewan, on Friday, March 13, 1930. The family relocated to Cranbrook, when she was a young girl.
Mom eventually met and married the love of her life, Jack Huxtable. The special love and respect Mom and Dad had for each other was very meaningful and important to their four children. It offered a loving and safe environment for us to grow-up in. Mom’s love of family was often shared with cousins and acquaintances. Mom’s smile and ability to listen to others often brightened the lives of so many.
Mom’s love of music and dance was witnessed throughout her life with the early years playing in the bugle band, encouraging her children and relatives to learn music, how she enjoyed the Key City performances, school band concerts, singing in the church choir, attending the children’s theatre and dance performances and the Symphony of the Kootenays. She loved the Pipe Bands for sure.
Jean is survived by her children; Barb (Bruce) Fountain, Janice (Bob) Murdoch, Heather (Walter) Pearce, Jack (Julia) Huxtable. Her loving grand children; Todd (Chantal), Christopher (Cynthia), Scott (Cassie), Derek (Veronica), Rob (Sarah), Cameron (Tina), Carly (Nick), Jonathan, Jennifer, Sarah, Bella. Also, her seven great grand children, Kaysea, Mikhaila, Carson, Colton, Kenzie, Linden, Quinn. Jean is also survived by her brothers Cameron (Georgie) MacDonald and Duncan (Pat) MacDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Jack, by her parents Duncan and Helen MacDonald and by her in-laws Bert and Anne Huxtable, also her sisters and their spouses, Margaret and David McLean, Mary and Shorty Kniess, Bella and Charlie Kram. Also, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Huxtable. As well as her grandson Cory.
To honor Mom’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
