It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Gertrude Theresa Howlett (Gorgeous Gert) aged 82 on April 29, 2019 at St. Luke’s Home
Predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years Phillip James; son Douglas; daughter-in-law Vicky; parents Joseph and Gertrude; her foster mom Julia Collins; grandsons Brandon and Tyler; great-grandson Glenn; sisters Alice, Vera and Lillian; brothers Hayward and Kenneth.
Leaving to mourn her loving children Phillip (Genie), Ann (Reg), Donny (Lisa), Danny (Theresa), Mickey (Sandy), Mary (Joe), Brenda (Stuart), Julie, Patricia (Booie) and Janet (Jimmy); brothers Reg, George and Benjamin; sisters Minnie, Maisie, Mae and Edna; daughter-in-law Sandra; brother-in-law Gerald (Daphne) and sister-in-law Betty. Also Her 32 grandchildren and 49 Great-grandchildren; special friends Norman, Bill, Doreen, John and Debbie, Devina, George and Patsy , Madonna, George and Theresa; numerous nieces and nephews of which there are to many to mention.
A special thanks to Darlene, Ashley and Jenetta for providing her with loving care.
Special thanks to the staff and friends at St. Luke’s (Inglewood and Cabot) your kindness will never be forgotten! While St. Luke’s was her last residency, she lived with her daughter Patricia and family for many years who cared for her and our father unconditionally. For this her siblings are forever thankful!
Although the dementia slowly took away her mind it did not take away her beautiful smile or the love, we have for her «Grief is the price we pay for love.»
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2 p.m. from St. Kevin’s Church. Interment to follow in St. Kevin’s Cemetery.
