Frank « Smiley » Krivak passed away peacefully on May 8, 2019 with family by his side after a long battle with complications from diabetes.
Frank was born February 4, 1936 and by the age of six was given the nickname Smiley by the Winnipeg Free Press which stuck for life. His love for hockey lasted his lifetime and his passion for friends and family was of the utmost importance. Smiley was a 61 year member of Plumbers & Pipefitters U.A. Local Union 254.
He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Johanna, siblings Lawrence and Allan and survived by his two siblings Jean Thomas (nee Krivak) and Cliff (Barbara), sons Frank (Susannah) and Derek (Heather), and grandchildren Ravyn, Hennessey, Easton and London and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service and reception to be held on Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 pm at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, Manitoba. Celebration of life to follow, light snacks and refreshments provided and location details forthcoming. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Canadian Diabetes Society or to the family for a memorial.
