Donat Louis Ouellet
On May 2, 2019, Mr. Donat Louis Ouellet of Whitecourt, AB, passed away at the age of 72 years.
The following will carry his memory, his loving wife of 48 years, Beth Anne; sons, Denis (Danielle), Darcy (Nonie), Cory (Nicole); grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Eric, Jurni, Dominic and Tucker; brothers, Camille, Bertin, Denis; sister, Denise, and many more dear relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Alphée and Marie-Anne; brothers, Albert, Clément, Charles, Adrien, Armand, Blaise, Alphée; sisters, Cécile and Thérèse.
As a young man, Donat’s determined spirit led him to move from Saint-Elzéar, QC. to Alberta. He met Beth Anne in Hinton and began his life-long career in logging. Donat came by his distinct English accent while working in a German logging camp. He and Beth Anne followed logging to Edson, then Fox Creek, to Chemainus, BC, until making their permanent home in Whitecourt. Donat was devoted to his family and friends, and had a passion for fishing. He was a man of many words, known as “Mr. Britannica” for his knowledge of everything, which he freely shared. Everyone who met Donat can attest that he had a respectful nature, and that he lived with integrity. Donat will always be remembered and carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Thank you to the Doctors and staff of the Whitecourt Health Care Centre and Homecare for the kind and heartfelt care shown to Donat and the family.
Honouring Donat’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Donat Louis
