David MacLean
1938-2019
John David MacLean, age 81, of Trenton, passed away suddenly
Thursday, May 2, 2019, in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in South
McLellan Mountain, he was a son of the late John Dan and Ermina
(Humphreys) MacLean. He was retired from Canso Chemicals. David was a
member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34, New Glasgow; an avid dart
player; an avid hunter and outdoorsman; and a former member of the
Trenton Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Mary B. (Barko);
daughters: Cheryl (Tony) Feltmate; Andrea Bright (Robert); Mary (Bob)
McGill; Janice MacLean (Glen); grandchildren: Amanda, Barbara, Jason,
Victoria, Erin, Andrew, Nicholas, Samantha, Mathew, Mandy and Jeffie;
great-grandchildren: Aidyn, Grayson, Blake, Dylan, Paisley, Lakely and
Brynlee; sister, Shirley Spivak; sister-in-law, Carol MacLean; several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Jackie;
sister, Margaret Jean. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, May 8, in the
R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 73 High St., Trenton, with Mr. Fergie MacKay
officiating. Reception to follow. Burial will be in Sunny Brae
Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County
SPCA or a charity of choice.
