Peacefully entered into rest with his loving family at his side at the Belleville General Hospital on Wednesday, May 29th, 2019. Clyde Pope of Quinte Gardens, Belleville died at the at of 90. He was the son of the late William & Mary Pope (nee Jeffrey) and husband for 66 years of the late Dorothy (nee Sehl). Clyde was the loving father of Mary Rushlow (Steve) of Belleville, David Pope (Glen) of Belleville/Toronto, Dr. Janet Pope of London, Jeffrey of King City and Ann Pope of Toronto. He was the proud grandfather of Adam (Jolene), Jacquie (Andrew), Danielle (Jason), Jessica (Colin), Paul (Janice), Jonathon, Theresa (Russell), Patrick, Andrea, Emily, Daniel, Julian, Andrew and Sarah and great grandfather of Malcolm, Henry and Lily. Clyde is survived by his sister Shirley Dietz of Kitchener, his sisters-in-law Audrey Pope of Simcoe, Rita Traynor of California and Jean Sehl of Waterloo. He is predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and Robert. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pope is resting at the Belleville Funeral Home & Chapel, 68 North Front Street, Belleville (613-968-5080) for visitation on Monday, June 3rd from 2:00 til 4:00 pm and 7:00 til 9:00 p.m. Rosary Prayers on Monday evening at 6:45 pm in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Allan Hood from Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 169 North Park Street, Belleville on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 at 11 a.m. Cremation with inurnment and Rite of Committal with Prayers at St. James’ Cemetery at a later date. Reception to follow the Mass in the Church Hall. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or Holy Rosary Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
