Charles Morley Welbanks
May 15, 1949 – May 16, 2019
Charles Welbanks passed away unexpectedly at Eriksdale Hospital on May 16, 2019 at the age of 70, after suffering a previous heart attack and a stroke.
He was predeceased by his parents, George Albert and Laura Marjorie Welbanks (nee Lynds), and is survived by his brother George who lives in Langley, B.C. Charles grew up in Elmwood and attended Humber College in Toronto. He worked as a millwright-mechanic at CN Rail in Winnipeg, VIA Rail in Toronto, and at the Michelin Tire plant in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Although he struggled with dyslexia as a child and schizophrenia throughout his life, he was an excellent mechanic, a skillful artist, an aspiring songwriter, a voracious reader, and a life-long Norton motorcycle enthusiast. For the past nine years, he resided at the Friendly Villa retirement home in Eriksdale.
At the request of the family, cremation has taken place with a private interment of the urn in the family plot at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Charles Morley Welbanks 2019..
