Surrounded by family, on Saturday May 11, 2019, we tragically lost a friend, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Left to mourn Calvin, is best friend and long-time companion, Ai-Ing, daughter Trinidee (grandson Londyn), sister Lily (Ken), their sons Brendan (Breanne), Bradley (Alanna),
Bryan (Salem), and sister Jean (Doug). Calvin was predeceased by his father James and mother Betty.
Throughout his life, Calvin loved all things outdoors. He was a talented carpenter as witnessed by the impressive landscaping job in his back yard. Fishing and camping were his idea of sport. To this end, he recently realized his life-long dream of owning a fishing boat. He could be heard proudly and loudly inviting anyone who was listening that he would love to take them fishing this summer. Sadly, this was not to be.
The family would like to thank the members of The Winnipeg Police Service for their compassion and helpfulness. We would also like to thank the doctors and staff of the HSC emergency and ICU units, who ensured that Calvin was receiving the best care, as well as taking care of us, his family. Your caring support was so much appreciated. Thanks as well to Mike for being such a good friend…and a final hug to Panda, his loyal canine companion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Diabetes Canada.
Please join the family for a celebration of Calvin’s life on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.
