BALDIN, Arthur ‘Art’ Victor – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Baldin on May 4, 2019, while vacationing with his family in Italy, in his sister’s home, next-door to his birthplace, at the age of 86. Art is predeceased by the love of his life Elide ‘Babs’ Baldin. Loving father of Rick (Cheryl) and Dave (Tania). Treasured Nono of Nick, Bella, Andrew, Olivia, and Jenna. Art immigrated to Niagara Falls, Canada in 1951 at 18 years of age, with his best friend Luigi (Gino) Coletti, where he worked in construction, built his home, had a career at TRW Canada, and settled his family. Art was truly generous to those he loved with his bountiful vegetable garden, his time volunteering with the Optimists, hosting his family from Italy, and singing and dancing with his beautiful wife Barbara. Art held Italy close to his heart and enjoyed his visits to Italy with many return vacations thoughout his life. Art’s sisters in Italy will greatly miss his weekly telephone calls and frequent visits: Lidia Poloni (Giuzzepe), Dina Cozzuol (the late Vennetio), Gianna Tonon (Sergio) and Luisa Peruch (the late Bruno). Art was also a beloved friend of his sisters-in-law in Canada: Lena Baldin (the late Mario), Dee Cloutier (the late Ron), Norma Kerr (the late Jim) and Ann Reginato (the late Renzo). Art will be sorely missed by his many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. Friends will be received by the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visitation on Friday May 31, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with Vigil prayers at 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 1, 2019 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Scapular Church. Cremation will follow with inurnment at a later date in Fairview Mausoleum.
