Memorial Donation
Anne passed away on May 24th, 2019, at the age of 63. The evening of her passing was a peaceful one.
She leaves to grieve her husband Sam, her mother Joan, and her sister Sylvia, as well as her three children and their families: son Jim with Angie and their children Brenna, Julianne, Jonah, and Thomas; daughter Sarah with Adam and their children Jesse, Teagan, and Blake; son Bill with Suzie and their daughter Iris.
Anne was predeceased by her father Alan and her brother Mike.
Anne was born to Alan and Joan Hoare on April 27th, 1956, in Nottingham, England. Anne met her husband Sam when she was 16. They were married on April 23, 1977, then moved to Canada seven weeks later. Anne drew on her experience as a legal secretary in England as she worked in the Rockwood Municipal office, in provincial crop insurance and in the Agricultural office. This helped Sam and Anne to decide where to buy a farm and the skills she developed there helped in building the farm they bought in 1979. Anne built roots in the community, raised her three children, and cared for many others as her own. As best as humanly possible, all was done in faith and a sense of partnership with her husband. She served in many ways in the church with a great passion for the people and the purpose. In her later years, Anne earned a degree in counselling, and provided counselling in the church and community.
While her health declined, her faith remained strong and she lived every day purposefully to the end. There could be no better way to honour Anne’s memory than by caring for others, as she strove to do, and as so many of you have done for us in these last days. The support of prayer and faith was unmistakable to her and to us. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
The viewing service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. followed by a devotional at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Steinbach, MB. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery, Friedensfeld, MB.
