Sandra Millicent Buhagiar

BUHAGIAR, Sandra Millicent ~ Age 79, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2019, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, with her loving family by her side. Born on July 13, 1939, in Toronto, the daughter of John and Dorothy Brushett (nee Tinston). Sandra “Sandy” was raised in Toronto, where she met and married Joseph Buhagiar, the love of her life. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, it is safe to say that her family was her life’s work. Greatly missed by her family and friends, Sandra will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. While they each have their own special memories of their mother, Sandra’s children share the similar experience of her being the very best mother one could ever hope for. Sandra is survived by her sons, Paul (Arlene); Larry; and daughter, Carmen Smale (Pat); ‘adopted’ son, Jim Spurrell; sisters, Gloria Wiscombe; Debblie Feligel (Kurt); niece, Jackaline Benoit (John); grandchildren, Melissa Crow (Tim); Michael Buhagiar (Chris); and Noah Smale; great-grandchildren, Anton, Olympia, and Lola. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joseph; daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Gimli, Manitoba); father, John; mother, Dorothy; sisters, Betty Turnbull; and, Janet Foster.The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Soldiers Memorial Hospital for their kind, attentive care, and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of one’s choice. In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment at North Kingston Cemetery to follow at a later date.
