Ron McGibbon 2019

Ronald Albert McGibbon of Kettle and Stony Point, formerly of Brantford, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, April 26, 2019. Ron was the cherished husband of Florence, his sweetheart, who he met on a blind date and within a year had made her his wife. Married for 66 years, Ron and Florence raised their family of Jeff & Julia and Mark & Patty all from Brantford. Ron’s family grew with their 4 Grandchildren, Melissa (Ben), Jake (Bettina), Kate, and Jamie (Bianca), making an impact on the world in areas as far away as Singapore. The family continued to grow, adding 2 Great Grandchildren, Jackson and Sienna. Ron will be lovingly remembered by many friends and family who have grown to be like an extended family.
Ron spent much of his life working in food services, taking a 10-year break to use his skills in home building before returning to the food service industry prior to his retirement. Ron loved spending time with his wife Florence, with their many dinner dates, as well as enjoying their time at the lake and spoiling his little shadow, Bisby the cat.
Family and friends continue to celebrate and remember Ron’s life with a private family memorial taking place at a later date. A handyman and multi-talented craftsman with a task always at hand.
Donations are appreciated in Ron’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Interment to take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brantford, Ontario.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street E., in Forest. 519-786-4964 Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
