It is with great sadness that the family of Ivan McLellan announce his passing on Friday, April 26th, 2019 in his 90th year. He was the loving husband of the late Phyllis (Duncan) McLellan and devoted father of Ruth (Richard) Leeflang and their children Terence (Ashley) Leeflang and Kayla (David) Purdon; Gary (Kelli) and their children Kylie, Matthew, Sydney, Garrett and Olivia; Nancy (David) Inwood and their children Andrea (Chris) Lortie and Thomas (April Fox) and proud great grandpa of Claire, Maddie, Jacob and Lily.
Ivan was the dear brother of Evelyn (late Ken) MacKenzie, Murray (Marylynn) McLellan, Shirley (Robert) Duncan and the late Arnold (late Zelda) McLellan. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He enjoyed many activities with his friends at Carolina Retirement Residence and his family wish to thank the staff for their professional, dedicated care. Ivan followed in his parent’s tradition, he and Phyllis owned McLellan’s General Store in McDonalds Corners for over 40 years. In addition to many other areas of community support, he served with the Lavant Dalhousie North Sherbrooke Fire Department for over 30 years.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth on Monday April 29th, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. immediately followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre. Interment Highland Cemetery.
In remembrance of Ivan, contributions to the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation, Knox Presbyterian Church, McDonalds Corners or Highland Line Cemetery would be appreciated.
