It is with heavy hearts that the family and friends of Richard Clifford “Dick” Norton announce his death at Moira Place Long Term Care Home, on March 25, 2019 at the age of 84.
Family and Friends would like to acknowledge the countless hours of support that Dick received from his caregivers at Moira Place and the support provided by the Bancroft Family Health Services.
Dick was predeceased by his parents Clifford Ruben Norton and Edna Rose Norton along with his Brother-in-law Donald Hawksworth. He will be sadly missed by his sister Jeannette “Sis” Hawksworth and her 4 children Jennifer, Jeff, Glenn (Cynthia) and Wendy (Doug). Along with his Great and Great-Great Nephews and Nieces A.J., Lindsay, Scott, Michelle, Dominic, Caedence & T.J.
Dick worked for Bell Canada in Toronto earlier in his career, but relocated to Lake St. Peter where he took up carpentry and work as a handyman for many cottagers around the lake.
When he was still able, Dick volunteered at the ANAF Barn Dances. Dick very much enjoyed playing Darts at the Lake St. Peter Tavern and Algonquin Lodge along with sitting around the Porterville “local” table with some of his many friends. Dick was a kind and gentle man that cherished and valued friendship.
A celebration of Richard “Dick” Norton’s life will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. (Cards available at the funeral home (613) 338-3259 or e-mail condolences to
