Obituary of Johnathan Clayton Edward Jarvis
Jarvis, Johnathan Clayton Edward
April 26, 1932 – March 17, 2019
It is with profound sadness that Clayton’s family announces his passing.
Clayton was surrounded by loved ones and passed from this life peacefully with his wife Corona and his Goddaughter (niece) Cathy holding his hands.
Clayton was born in Smithville, the son of George and Lillian Jarvis, brother of James (deceased)
He is survived by his loving wife Corona.
Clayton and Corona were married on June 15, 1957 in Smithville. They lived their 62 years together in Smithville, Beamsville, Muskoka and returning to Beamsville.
They enjoyed vacationing at Shores Acres Trailer Park in Port Dover and travelling to ploughing matches with their “Two Cylinder family.” His Antique Model B John Deere won many awards.
He was a member of the Masons and a member and volunteer of Beamsville and Smithville fair boards and several Antique Tractor organizations. He also volunteered for numerous years at Albright Manor just to name a few.
Clayton loved the outdoors. Grass never grew under his feet.
He always enjoyed visiting with friends and family over coffee; and sitting on the porch when it was time to relax.
Clayton will be remembered by many for his quick wit, warm smile and always being there with a helping hand when needed.
Clayton is survived by his niece and “nephew” Cathy and Joe Merritt and his brother-in-law and friend Jim Atkinson; and his sister-in-law Judy Grobb.
Clayton is also survived by his brother-in-law Albert Grobb , his niece Ann (Chris) his great nephew & niece Cody and Avery, his sister Heather and several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes 3277 King St. Vineland on Thursday March 21st 2-4 and 6-8pm. Service in the chapel on Friday March 22nd at 1pm with interment at Mount Osborne Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room at Tallmans.
In lieu of flowers Corona would appreciate donations to Saint Helen Roman Catholic Church in Beamsville, McNally House Hospice in Grimsby or a charity of your choice.
When you love someone, that love doesn’t die when they do. It stays in our hearts forever
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Johnathan
