With heavy hearts the family of John “Jack” Clayton McIvor announces his passing that occurred on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1933 in Saint John, he was the son of the late William and Alena (Stackhouse) McIvor. Jack was a Plumber for many years employed with Harold Peer until his retirement and was a member of Local 213. He was a devoted family man and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Shirley (Campbell) McIvor; daughters Judy (Beaver), Phyllis (Michael), Jo-Anne (Michael), Kim (Mark) and Laurie (Rob); son Doug (Melinda); brothers Raymond (Frank), Edward and Malcolm; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Gordon (June) Campbell; son-in-law Eric Ritchie.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son David Campbell McIvor.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Bewick and the Staff of the Cardiac Care Unit for the wonderful care shown to Jack over the years and to nephew Pastor Michael Campbell for his compassion and guidance given to Jack and all our family. Also, special thanks to all of Jack’s friends at his apartment complex for always being there to lend a helping hand.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. By his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
