Effie Glenn
1922-2019
It is with heartfelt sadness that we have to say goodbye to a
kind, loving, amazing, and hardworking woman – our mom,
Effie Glenn of Pomquet, Antigonish County at the age of
97.
Born in Fairmont, she was a daughter of the late Alexander
and Jessie (Stewart) MacMillan.
Effie was the last surviving member of her immediate
family. She is survived by sons, Frank (Helen), Jim, and
Tom, all of Pomquet; daughters, Mary, Heatherton; Linda, Guysborough;
Jessie (Jimmy), Fredericton; Sheila (Bill), Antigonish; Donna,
Antigonish; Janie (Daryl), Pomquet; Helen (Gary), Monastery; and
Darlene (Danny), Monastery; 24 grandchildren and 42
great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; two daughters, Debby
and Donelda; three sons-in-law; brothers, Dan, Mackie, Sander, Johnny,
Cameron, Allie, and Elmer; and sisters, Mae, Pearl, Maggie, Kay, Flo,
Betty, Ruthie, and Gerry.
Visitation will be held Tuesday in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street from 2 to 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held
Wednesday in Ste. Croix Church, Pomquet, at 11:00am, Reverend Andrew
Gillies presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery in the
spring.
Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Antigonish Town & County Palliative Care
Society or the Pomquet Parish Luncheons appreciated.
