Barbara Joyce Currie
1943-2019
The passing of Barbara Joyce Currie, wife of the late David
W. Currie occurred on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Saint John
Regional Hospital. Born on June 10, 1943 in Saint John, she
was the daughter of the late M. T. Campbell and Florence Campbell
(Fanjoy).
Prior to her retirement, Barb had worked for New System for a
number of years and volunteered for the Rothesay Police
Department. As well, Barb had worked for numerous employers
before becoming a full time mom, including Willett Fruit and Simms in
Saint John. Barb loved spending time with family, especially
her grandson Noah, her great nieces, and attending service at the
Kings Valley Wesleyan church with her sister-in-law. She
enjoyed puzzles, games, knitting, and crocheting.
Barbara is survived by her son, Lawrence Currie (Tara) of
Moncton NB; grandson, Noah Currie of Saint John; brother James
Campbell (Linda) of Dartmouth, NS; sister/brother-in-laws, Lorraine
LeBlanc (Victor) of Rothesay, Larry Walsh (Carlotta) of Lorneville,
NB, Allen Walsh (Debbie) of Minto, NB and Arnold Walsh (Barbara) of
Midland, NB; as well several nieces and
nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Riverdale Manor,
where she resided before her stay in hospital, and the Saint John
Regional Hospital floors 4BN and 3BN for their warm care and comfort
shown to Barbara and her family, especially in her final
days.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s
Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB. (506-634-7424). As per
Barb’s wishes, in lieu of a funeral or visitation services,
a small graveside service will be held during interment at a later
