Obituary of Anne Meinen
MEINEN, Anne (nee Klein)
With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Oma, sister, and friend Anne Meinen on Monday, March 11, 2019, in her 72nd year. Reunited once again with her dear husband Gerry. Devoted mother of Theresa and Tony Heida, Arend Meinen and Louise Roberge, Amy and Shawn Cook, David and Kristy Meinen. Adoring Oma to Rhiannon, Adam, Leah, Ethan, Alex, Claire, Gerrit and Matthew. Dear sister of Will and Hermina Klein, Lucy and Herman Mulder; and sister-in-law to Wilma and Dirk Vermeulen, Joanne (Jerry) Potma, Ada and Hylke Faber, Janet and Ralph de Groot, John and Grace Meinen, Harry and Melinda Meinen. Aunt and Great-Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her infectious laugh. Anne’s love touched many lives. She was a loyal friend, a farmer, a dedicated member of her church and was always eager to help others and give her time as Oma’s taxi, personal shopper to friends, and favourite dinner guest of many. Special thanks to Dr. Mead and the ICU staff of Hamilton General Hospital for their compassionate care. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, Stoney Creek, on Sunday, March 17 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Monday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Reformed Church, 621 Hwy 8, Stoney Creek. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Countryside Camp (“Camp Shalom”), a children’s camp ministry dear to Anne’s heart.
