It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of
Wayne Alan MacDonald, on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Cape Breton
Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace
(Gwynn) MacDonald.
Wayne was a spirited entrepreneur from a very young age and
anyone who knew him recognized his love of putting the
‘deal’ together. He worked in some
segment of the food industry his whole life, all the while dabbling in
real estate. His last business purchase, Classic Fine Foods,
brought him back to Cape Breton in 2009 where he and his wife settled
in for retirement.
Wayne is survived by his wife Patricia «Trish»
(Woodward) , daughter Kelly (Collin Midwood) MacDonald, Lake Country,
BC, sisters Sandra (Maurice) Curtis, Aspy Bay, Jacklyn (Robert Black)
MacDonald, Sydney, brother Bruce (Penny), Sydney, grandchildren Aiden,
Denlin, and Jorynn.
Funeral service will take place Sunday, March 3, 2019
at 2 pm in the United Protestant Church of Sydney
River with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Reception to follow
immediately after service. Interment in Aspy Bay United Church
