Sietge (Siggy) Dystra
May 28, 1948 – February 1, 2019
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Siggy Dykstra, long time resident of Transcona. With family at his side, he died peacefully at Concordia Hospital. Siggy was a great man, and loved by many. In his earlier years he was involved in everything and everywhere volunteering, and was the recipient of the Canada Volunteer Award Medal and Certificate of Honour in 1995. He and his wife Bunny travelled to Ottawa to receive the Award given by the Minister of National Health and Welfare. He was a Bus Driver for many years, and was voted in as Financial Secretary Treasurer for the ATU 1505 and retired in 2002. He is survived by his wife Bunny, a daughter Carrie (Percy), sons Darryl (Jen), Jonathan (Michelle), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 brothers Korey (Heidi), Yelle (Donna), sister Heddy (Rick). Condolences may be offered to the Family at: www.mosaicfunerals.ca Memorial Service will be held at Union Centre Inc., 275 Broadway Ave Wpg on February 17 2019 at 1:00pm-Complimentary parking for attendees at Parkade in rear of the building.
