Sharon Elizabeth Palmer
1956-2019
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the
sudden passing of our beloved Sharon Elizabeth Palmer, 62, of
Centerville, Kings County, on February 8, 2019. She was at the Valley
Regional Hospital and was embraced by her loving family. Born in
Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Elizabeth Palmer
of Billtown. At 15 years old, Sharon first started volunteering and
was later employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Evergreen Home
for Special Care. Working in the Children’s Unit, her
compassionate and loving nature led her to pursue a post secondary
education. While continuing to work and raise her three daughters, she
travelled daily to Dalhousie University and in 1996 graduated with a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following her graduation, she worked
at the Valley Regional Hospital as a Charge Nurse on the Medical Unit
until the time of her retirement. Sharon was a passionate nurse who
put her heart and soul into caring for those around her and inspired
others to do the same. Her knowledge, clever instincts, determination,
and firm belief in the value of every person,
made a difference in the lives of so many. Sharon’s greatest
joy in life was her family. She was an incredible mother, sister,
aunt, friend and Binney. Her humour, compassion, sharp wit, uplifting
hugs and welcoming smile will be forever missed. She was happiest when
spending time with her grandchildren, Kaelen, Max, Eliza, AJ and Gus,
along with niece Halee and nephew Mason. They will miss her fun-loving
ways and unconditional love. Surely Binney will be present and beaming
with pride when her newest grandson arrives in the spring. Sharon is
survived by her three daughters, Beth Sheppard (Clinton Pothier);
Kelly Godfrey (Adam); and Megan Sheppard (Bryce Cooper); siblings,
Kathy, Sandy, Michelle, Kevin and Bryan. She is predeceased by her
infant siblings, Valerie and Stephen. A gathering to honour
Sharon’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February
15, 2019, at White Family Funeral Home in Kentville. In lieu
of flowers please send your memories of Sharon to megan-max@hotmail.com.
Donations in memory can be made to the Annapolis Valley Chapter of
Autism Nova Scotia. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
