Obituary
HIGGINSON, Richard (Dick) Henry Blair passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 6, 2019 at the age of 81. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years Sandy, and their children and grandchildren, Scott & Sheri (Danko), Blair, Alana and April, and Shannon & Murray (Gilmour), Arlyn and Marin.
Dick was born June 17, 1937 in Winnipeg where he lived with his parents and big brothers Jim & John. Dick spent his first working years with CN Rail in Winnipeg. He later accepted a job with Xerox Canada where he spent 35 years, moving from Winnipeg, to Toronto and eventually to North Vancouver where he spent many hours at hockey rinks, soccer games and dance competitions cheering on his children. Dick retired in 1994 and moved with Sandy to Qualicum Beach where they spent the past 24 years enjoying their time together.
Dick will be remembered fondly by his friends and family for his infectious smile, his love of a good joke, and his kind and caring nature.
The family is incredibly grateful for the care provided by the doctors and staff at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
