KENNEDY, Raymond
Louisbourg/Sydney
With broken hearts, we, the family of Raymond Daniel Kennedy,
regret to announce his passing on Friday, February 8,
2019.
Born August 14, 1958, in Sydney, he was the son of the late
Daniel and Margaret (Burke) Kennedy.
At the age of 16, Raymond began working as a cutter for
National Sea, where he worked for many years before moving on to Shell
Sea Fish Plant. Raymond also worked for Rona, Crossroads Cape Breton
and Pathways to Employment. In his younger years, Raymond could be
found biking or jogging around Old Town and would often bike to Sydney
and back. He was an avid Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed spending time in
the gym working out. Raymond cherished the company of his cousin,
Stephen Kennedy and many discussions revolved around the bible. Being
by the sea brought him great peace, whether it be fishing or swimming.
He was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Louisbourg.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Belinda Kennedy and her
children, Benjamin and Ella and Cathy Kennedy and her children, Darryn
and Chloe, all of Ontario; sister, Diane LeBlanc, Louisbourg; nieces,
Shelley LeBlanc and Natasha Arsenault and their children; nephews,
Robbie and Cory LeBlanc and his children.
Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his
grandparents, Richard and Catherine Kennedy, Louisbourg and Fred and
Rose Burke, of Baleine, cousin, James Jr. « Jimmy » Kennedy,
Louisbourg.
Funeral service will take place Saturday, February 16th, 2019
at 2pm in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Mr. Gary Grant officiating.

date.
