Marija Hickey
Unexpectedly and peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Marija Ana Hickey of lovely Lambeth and formerly of Ribnica, Slovenija, passed away in her 72nd year. Cherished and proud mother of Tina and Catherine Hickey, and beloved mother-in-law of Tom Davie. Marija’s whole life revolved around her girls. Dear sister of Tina Pevec and her husband Franc. Also loved by her niece Lidija and her husband Zoran, her nephew Mitja and his wife Mojca, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She is especially missed by the Korosec family; Martin, Mike and the Cullen family; and Trudy, Jeff and the Lenssen family. Marija loved her dear friends Mary, Anna, Paul, Patti, Jelena, Sue and Ann. Marija’s door and heart were always open to the countless children she cared for and the many friends she valued as family.
Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South Lambeth, 519-652-2020 on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Prayers will be held at the Funeral Home Monday evening at 6:45 pm. A mass celebrating Marija’s life will be held at St. George’s Parish, 1164 Commissioners Rd., W., London, Ont. N6K 1C7 on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 10:00 am. Father John Jasica celebrating. Donations to Wellspring, 382 Waterloo St., London, Ont. N6B 2N8 gratefully acknowledged.
