Maria Ines DaRosa
1940-2019
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Maria
Ines DaRosa. Ines was born in Sao Miguel and immigrated to Canada in
1966, calling Galt her home. Family was everything to Maria Ines.
She loved nothing more than to feed everyone who came to her home, she
was a great cook. She loved her garden. She was a strong woman who
fought valiantly to the end. What she loved most in the world was
“her boys”, her four grandsons. She enjoyed many
vacations with her family and spending time at their former trailer in
Bayfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Mariano,
son-in-law David, brother Carlos and parents Angelo and Maria. She is
survived by her daughters Gilberta and Lubelia (Doug), and her
grandsons Wade (Michelle), Thomas, Matthew (Amanda) and Nickolas. She
also leaves behind her brothers Manuel (Maria Jose), John (Sharon),
Gilbert (Betty), sister-in-law Betty, as well as many nieces and
nephews. Many thanks to the staff at Hilltop Manor, especially the
staff of the Galt Wing, who’s compassion and care made her last
days comfortable. She will be sadly missed, however her pain and
suffering are now over and she is reunited with her husband in Heaven.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where
family and friends will be received on Sunday February 17, 2019 from
5-9p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St.
Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 53 Wellington St., Cambridge,
on Monday February 18, 2019 at 10a.m. Interment will follow at
Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian
Diabetes Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity
of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
