It is with heavy hearts that
we announce the passing of our sister and aunt, Linda Louise Couture
on Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital,
Sydney.
Born August 5, 1946, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the
late John « Buddy » and Evelyn (Beck) Couture.
Linda was employed as the director of the EKG Department at
the City Hospital, retiring from the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
After retiring, she enjoyed time spent with her family and close
circle of friends, as well as her fur babies. Linda enjoyed drives
around the island, dining out, puzzles and music. She was a member of
the Ukulele Strummers and the Sydney Pensioners Club, where she
enjoyed a good game of tarabish.
Linda is survived by her brothers, John (Kay) and Robert
(Flora); nephews, John (Kari) and David (Cherie); niece, Lyndel Long
(Aaron); grandnephews, Andrew and Reece Couture, Colby and Kenzie
Long; grandniece, Emma Long and Sophie Lovette.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister in
infancy.
Cremation has taken place. As per Linda’s wishes,
there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take
place in Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in Linda’s memory may be made to a
charity of your choice.
